Over the decades, Opsahl Dawson (ODC) has evolved in countless ways: We’ve welcomed new talent, expanded our areas of expertise, adopted emerging technologies, and set bold visions for the future. With so much positive momentum driving us forward, refreshing our identity felt not only timely, but essential.

Today, our new brand proudly highlights who we are and where we’re headed. It captures the essence of our firm and welcomes a new era of innovation, expansion, and excellence.

Where We Started—and Where We’re Headed

Our story began in 1979, when George Opsahl founded the firm with a simple but powerful mission: to support the people and businesses in his Pacific Northwest community. Born and raised in Longview, George returned to the region after beginning his career in Seattle, bringing with him a deep sense of integrity, a commitment to service, and a passion for giving back. These values continue to define us today and are proudly carried forward by our official name—Opsahl Dawson & Co.—which honors our retired founder and celebrates the innovative spirit of our CEO, Aaron Dawson.

That said, you’ll often hear us referred to as Opsahl Dawson, or simply ODC.

Since its founding, ODC has grown from a local tax practice into one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading accounting, assurance, and business advisory firms. In just the past five years, our momentum has accelerated dramatically. We’ve tripled our revenue, expanded our services, and been recognized nationally—recognized as one of Portland Business Journal’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies, ranked the third fastest-growing firm by Accounting Today and named one of the top 300 firms in the country by Inside Public Accounting. To bring the future of ODC into focus, we needed a brand that could grow alongside us.
