To request a copy of your tax return, please email us at Newclientinfo@opsahlco.com.
Quarterly estimated tax payments are due:
- April 15
- June 15
- September 15
- January 15 (of the following year)
March 15 – Filing deadline for most business tax returns, including Partnerships and S-Corporations.
- Extensions are available until September 15.
April 15 – Deadline for individual tax returns, as well as returns for trusts and C-Corporations.
- Extensions can be filed through October 15.
May 15 – Filing deadline for nonprofit organization returns.
- Can be extended to November 15.
For personal tax records, the IRS generally recommends keeping documents for at least three years from the date you filed your return. However, if you underreport income by more than 25%, the retention period extends to six years.
For business tax records, it’s best to keep documents for at least seven years, as they may be needed for audits, depreciation schedules, or employee-related matters.
When in doubt, it’s wise to keep records longer—especially those related to asset purchases, sales, or key business operations.
