James Ezell, CPA

James brings a wealth of experience in public accounting, serving a diverse range of small to mid-sized privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. His specialties include tax compliance, strategic planning, and consulting services. Throughout his career, James has developed a well-rounded skill set spanning individual and business tax returns, estates and gifting, trusts, nonprofits, and financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations. James earned both his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama and his Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has worked with CPA firms in both Birmingham, Alabama, and Meridian, Mississippi, since 1996. Today, James is passionate about helping clients reduce their tax burden and better understand tax implications in retirement through ODC’s Tax Forward program. His goal is to simplify the complex and offer clear, actionable guidance that supports each client’s financial success. Outside of the office, James is an avid supporter of University of Alabama athletics and holds season tickets for football, basketball, and softball. He’s also a Certified Barbecue Judge through the Kansas City Barbeque Society and enjoys judging competitions across the region.
