Katie specializes in tax planning and compliance for individuals and pass-through entities, with a particular focus on small businesses. She finds it rewarding to demystify the tax code and help clients understand the factors that impact their tax liability. Whether it’s avoiding year-end surprises or developing a smart long-term strategy, Katie enjoys guiding clients toward more confident financial decisions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Columbia University and is a licensed CPA. Before joining Opsahl Dawson (formerly Hauser Jones & Sas), Katie worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in New York City and later served as a study abroad educator in Beijing, China—experiences that gave her a broad and thoughtful perspective on the work she does today. In her downtime, Katie loves relaxing at the lake, experimenting with new recipes, and curling up with a good book. She's also an enthusiastic DIYer who enjoys learning how to fix gadgets and appliances around the house.
